29 Oct Gran’s House Studio
Gran’s House is a beautiful recording studio set in the Scottish Lowlands by the River Clyde, and has been one of Scotland’s most popular residential recording studios since it opened its doors in 2006.
Angus Lyon is an amazing musician and recording engineer who owns Gran’s House. The house originally belonged to his grandparents, and is located on the farm where he grew up. In 2006 Angus turned the whole house into an amazing recording space for musicians. What started as a popular spot for folk and traditional musicians has quickly grown into a place where musicians of all ages and genres love to get away from it all to record full albums or use as a creative retreat in the quiet countryside. As a musician myself, I’ve recorded here several times and the experience is second to none!
Gran’s House had an existing WordPress website that was pretty simple and didn’t have a lot of content on it. They’re really active and great on social media, and book a lot of their clients through the use of their social channels and online marketing. Their site was a weak point in their online presence so we spoke about what they would like their website to look like, what they wanted it to include, and I got to work.
Angus already had some beautiful photos of the studio and the surrounding area, and you know how I feel about great photos; they make all the difference in the world to helping a website look its best. We spoke a lot about what message they wanted to convey to their visitors, why their studio is such an amazing place for artists to record, and how to show that on their site. I truly feel that between their beautiful photos, written content and site design, we’ve been able to show how special Gran’s House really is.
