This WordPress website design was created for Paintbox School of Art, an independent art school based in East Lothian.

This website rebuild for Paintbox School of Art was one of my biggest projects yet and was a complete joy to work on. They are a well known and established business, having been going for over a decade now.

Originally, they built their website on Weebly. They are very hands on and did a lot of digital work during Covid, all the while allowing their business to flourish. This led to them creating over 12 different (very thorough!) online courses. When we rebuilt their website on WordPress, we had to transfer and rebuild all of their online courses. We also decided to give them the functionality to sell spaces for all of their in-person courses through their website, which helped to cut down on their admin time and to better organise their workflow.

All of this led them to a website that helped them further position themselves as an authority in their field, with better search results and traffic, and more ease of use for their customers. This enabled them to free up much of the time doing the organisational workflow they were stuck doing when their last website wasn’t doing much of the heavy lifting for them.

Working with Jemma and Lynsey was truly wonderful, and this was one of my favourite projects to date!

On finishing our work together, they said:

“We worked with Marissa to completely rebuild our website. It was a big site, for a well established business, so there was a lot to sort. I cannot recommend Marissa highly enough! Not only did she remove all the stress, she absolutely ‘got’ our business and came up with a design that perfectly reflected what we do! She had such brilliant and easy ways of sharing thoughts and visuals with us online, and was a dream to work with!! Her creativity, ideas and know how were absolutely invaluable! Since building the site she has helped us to learn how to continue to manage too. She’s the absolute best!! Can’t recommend her highly enough!”

This WordPress website design was created for Simpson’s Florist, a beautiful independent boutique florist based in Edinburgh.

Simpson’s Florist is an award winning florist and one of the oldest in Edinburgh. Their current owner, Frances, took ownership of the shop in 2020 and they have gone from strength to strength.

This project started as a smaller piece of work on the back end of their website and turned into a rebuild over time. We reworked content to highlight their beautiful bouquets, awards they’ve won, simplifying their e-commerce process to increase their orders, and added blog functionality for them to share their updates more widely with their audience.

It was a wonderful experience to work with such a lovely team on this rebuild!

This WordPress website design was created for Avondale Radio, a brilliant local internet radio station based in South Lanarkshire.

Avondale Radio is only a couple of years old and has gone from strength to strength since they started. They already boast an impressive 120,000 + listeners a month!

They had an existing website which looked a bit dated and was hard for them to update. It also didn’t give them all of the functionality that they required. When we rebuilt their website, we retained the ability for them to share ‘listen now’ and ‘listen again’ features, as well as giving them a more modern look, better usability across devices, the ability to better share recurring and one-off events in the local community, and various news features and categories across different parts of the website.

They are a brilliant, friendly and hardworking team which made this project all the more fun to work on!

Upon finishing my work on the site, Nancy (one of their Station Managers) said:

“The management team at Avondale Radio are delighted with the rebuild of our website. Marissa was easy to work with, providing ideas and input as required and was open to our suggestions and questions. She met with us via zoom as neeeded and at times that were suitable to the whole team. She has provided clear training videos, post build, to help us navigate the new website smoothly. Any questions – she has been there for advice and support. We would have no difficulty in recommending her work.”

This WordPress website design was created for an amazing organisation based in South Lanarkshire called Sound Ambitions.

Sound Ambitions was launched with a view to inspire young musicians, from tots to teens, throughout South Lanarkshire. With over 20 years of experience in their field, they offer 1:1 instrumental tuition, early years classes, and girls talk girls rock classes.

It was a pleasure to work with some beautiful branding created by Lowenna of The Soulful Design Co on this project. And ultimately, so obsessed with this beautiful and eye-catching website for Sound Ambitions CIC!

Upon finishing my work on the site, Marie (founder of Sound Ambitions CIC) said:

“OMG I’ve just been on the site! Thank you so much Marissa.

This is the biggest amount I have invested in my business so far and it’s been more than worth it. You have gone above and beyond what I ever would have expected.

It just captures the whole spirit of my projects with such vibrancy. It also helped me to focus and streamline my vision, pulling everything together a bit more strategically. I feel like a real company now!”

This WordPress website design was for the inspiring Leslye Flores of Abound Healing.

This is the second time I’ve worked with Leslye on a site build for her. This is truly the dream for me; when the clients you most love working with come back again and again!

Leslye is about to launch her trauma therapy practice and needed a new website to showcase how she works and to share her services. As she works in both English and Spanish, we created a bilingual website for her.

Upon finishing our work this time round on her site together, Leslye said:

“I’ve worked with Marissa twice and both times she has gone above and beyond to make sure my sites were exactly what I had envisioned.
I cannot see myself working with anyone else for future projects. I have tried other developers and I keep coming back because Marissa is just amazing!!!”

This WordPress website design was for the wonderful Alyssa Richmond.

I really loved building this website for Alyssa. She was getting ready to launch her new intuitive coaching (which includes a mix of tarot and astrology) into the world and wanted a beautiful new website to bring her vision to life.

We worked on her branding as well as my usual website and dream client questionnaire discovery process before her build and created a beautiful site for her. This also integrates her forms and payments for her offerings with her coaching portal she uses which helps automate her processes.

Upon finishing our work this time round on her site together, Alyssa said:

“Marissa has crafted a stunningly beautiful website for me – I love it so much. She is very professional, incredibly well-organised and responsive, so patient, and really an absolute dream to work with! She intuitively captured the energy I wanted and truly does bring the magic to website design – it is everything I wanted and oh so much more. It was important to me that my website went live on the Spring Equinox and with the energy of the New Moon, and she worked with me to ensure we met that target, even though I was late in delivering copy to her. More than that, she actually went above and beyond and made the website live at the exact moment of the Equinox – it couldn’t get more magical!”

This WordPress website design was for the lovely Jade, at Jade Rebecca Adams.

Jade was such a wonderful client to work with! This build was such a seamless process; that’s exactly how it goes when we both trust each other from the very start and know we’ll work well together 🙂

Jade has not long launched her own brand which provides NLP and Life Coaching services an wanted a beautiful new website to kick start her marketing. Often creating a website when in the early stages of your business can be daunting, as you then need to do a lot of work around your offerings and who your dream clients are so you can make sure you really speak to them. It can feel like a stretch at the start of launching your biz into the world, but also goes a very long way to help you build that professional and expansive vision you’re manifesting. See the end result below!

Upon finishing our work this time round on her site together, Jade said:

“It was a joy to work with Marissa! She perfectly captured my vision and built a beautiful website for me – I love the look, I love the feeling that the design and imagery creates. I can’t recommend her services highly enough.”

This WordPress website design was for the wonderful Clare at Empowered Enchantress.

Clare is such an amazing woman and it has been a pleasure to work with her on several occasions. We started with an initial website build a couple of years ago, and as she grew her business, her vision for her website grew with it. We revisited her site last year and gave it a bit of an overhaul that she’s very happy with.

Upon finishing our work this time round on her site together, Clare said:

“Marissa is professional, highly responsive, and very intuitive. I told her what I wanted and gave her my website copy, photos, and color palette , but what she created using her talent is a stunning website! It brings me such joy and I am proud of it. This is my second time working with her. I really appreciate how she seems to know me better than I know myself (intuitive) and chooses images I didn’t even know about to make my site stunning. Thank you, Thank you. You are amazing Marissa. I highly recommend her if you are a creative, heart centered entrepreneur. She will help you look professional and feel great about your website!!!”

This WordPress website design was for the amazing Laura at Roots & Blooms.

Laura got in touch with me to build a website for her new venture, Roots & Blooms. She has the most amazing story and is helping her audience in a wide range of ways; through wellness classes, connecting with nature, hygge baby massage, occupational therapy, parent coaching and essential oils.

Often my clients are amazing at many different things and struggle to put this on their website in a cohesive way that captivates their audience. I love working through my process with them to help them pin down who they best serve and present it in a way that helps their audience understand how they can help them.

It was a total honour to work with the wonderful Laura on this new website for her business.
