This project was a redesign for an amazing local swim school for babies and children, Merbabies.

Anna Payne is the founder of Merbabies, and also a totally inspiring businesswoman! I was so excited to work on this with her, and had such a great time redesigning her website.

Anna started Merbabies about 2 years ago and designed her own website to get going. Now that she’s built up her business and has a larger audience, she felt the time was right to get everything rebranded and her site rebuilt.

She had her branding redone by Julia Bastek, as well as lots of beautiful images. It was a brilliant experience to build a site that already had such strong visual assets!

Anna was the perfect client to work with. She really clearly communicated everything about her brand, which in turn made it much easier for me to create a site that was exactly what she wanted.

Something else that made a huge difference here was StoryBrand! If you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen me talking about this book. Anna read it and worked through the framework while rewriting her copy, and we then used this heavily through the design of her site as well. I can’t recommend this book enough, so definitely check it out whether you’re designing your site or not (it will help with all of your marketing collateral too!).

I’m so glad I had the opportunity to work on this site, and as always, having a brilliant client makes all the difference. More like this, please!

I built a new website for dynamic Scottish folk band Gnoss for the launch of their upcoming album.

I was delighted when the guys asked me to build their new site. They’re a really brilliant up and coming folk band who are making some beautiful music!

They’re launching their new album, ‘Drawn From Deep Water’ in April and have started taking pre-orders. For the launch of their new album, they wanted to have an awesome new site to help get the word out there about their album and gigs!

Gnoss had some stunning artwork created by Orla Stevens and photography by Martin Venherm for their album. We based their site design on these assets and came out with a lovely teal and grey colour palette, and a darker feel based on their artwork and photography. It was a really fun project to work on!

Drum Academy Scotland is a website I built for the launch of an exciting new project by Fraser Stone.

Fraser is a fantastic drummer and educator who decided to launch a new initiative to teach drumming to a wide range of audiences from primary aged school children to adults in professional environments. Through their work, they aim to bring a wide range of drumming and rhythm based training, services and resources to people across Scotland.

I was delighted that Fraser asked me to work with him on this project as he got ready to launch. We worked closely on this build to get the right feel that he wanted for the site and to make sure it really showcased everything they’re working on.

He also had some brilliant photos taken by Paul Jennings to showcase the instruments they’re using that have been provided by their sponsors. Check out Paul’s work too for some awesome photography and videography!

Em & Ar Get Hitched is a very special wedding website that I built for my sister and her fiance.

My sister is getting married in the summer and I am very excited about it! She mentioned that she would love to have a website built for their guests to get all the info about their wedding and RSVP from their site. I was so excited to build this for them! All of my family live in Canada still and it’s hard to be so far away from home when so many exciting things are happening, so it was really fun to be involved in all the preparations like this.

We wanted the site to be minimalist and elegant. This doesn’t need lots of functionality but has to look amazing! She had an awesome graphic designer put together their colour palette, fonts, and design for their invites and I had all of that to work with, which gave me a good creative base for the build.

They also had a stunning engagement photo shoot session with Sarah Thomas Photography last year, whose amazing photos made the website truly beautiful!  High quality photos always make your website stand out.

This was such a fun website to build and having stunning photography, a beautiful colour palette, and strong graphic assets to work with made such a difference. I would love to do more like this!

Jenna Reid is an award-winning Shetland fiddler and a wonderful composer.

I’ve known Jenna for a long time now and have always admired her music and work ethic. I was so pleased when she asked me to design her new website to coincide with the launch of her fifth solo album, ‘Working Hands’.

Jenna’s had websites with a number of bands she’s been a part of, but she’d never had her own site. It’s always nice to start from scratch and build something from the ground up. She also wanted a shop to sell her album on her site, so I built that functionality into her site as well.

While Jenna was recording her latest solo album, she had some beautiful black and white photos taken of some of the recording sessions. We used these almost exclusively for her site build, and based her design off of her dreamy recording photos and her album cover design.

Drop me a line here if you’d like to chat about a new project with me, or take a look at Jenna’s website here. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

S’mug Coffee Bar is a beautiful independent coffee shop in the west end of Glasgow. Their coffee is delicious, and even better, they know how to whip up a mean London Fog!

Joanna took over S’mug last year, and has been doing a great job. She’s been working on building her social channels and needed a new website built; the shop’s never had one before! You can imagine how many people are on Google searching ‘Glasgow west end coffee shop’ so we knew she had to be online to attract new customers.
